A newborn’s breastfeeding experience with mom is the most foundational process to begin a new life. When breastfeeding is a struggle, life gets hard fast. We work with a team of experts to help identify if your struggles might be a result of tongue or lip ties.
As young children begin the transition to solid foods, swallowing can become more difficult if the tongue isn't able to function properly. Kids sometimes get labeled “picky eaters” when in reality they simply refuse food that a restricted tongue prevents them from swallowing with ease.
Tongue position is foundational for healthy breathing during sleep and overall facial growth and development. Kids shouldn’t struggle with restless sleep or suffer from chronic open-mouth breathing just because their tongue isn’t positioned correctly.
When a child has trouble being understood by others, it takes a team of experts to identify the problem and help the child at the right time. Sometimes, helping the tongue move freely inside the mouth is a kick start on the road to success!
Every child has frenums inside their mouth that connect oral tissues together. They are completely normal. But some frenums can be excessively thick or improperly attached causing problems that limit the function of the mouth for daily life activities.
